Paddy’s Day Shindig at Friends of Ham
Friends of Ham are celebrating Paddy’s Day in true Irish style this year with music from Dr Reel Good, an experienced, welcoming and roof-raising ensemble playing a fine collection of Irish folk tunes, traditional melodies and songs.
They will have beers from Eight Degrees Brewing Co. who are based in Cork. Brewers Cam and Scott were lured to Ireland by two charming ladies, and once they were settled found themselves puzzled by the lack of locally brewed beer available. Both took up home brewing and went on to study atBerlin’s ‘Versuchs und Lehranstalt fur Braurei’. Returning home filled with confidence they founded ‘Eight Degrees Brewing Co., thusly named because the line of longitude running down the centre of Ireland is eight degrees West of Greenwich. They will have a Pale, Irish Red and Porter from them, so plenty of variety to choose from!
Friends of Ham will also be supping some beers from some Irish folk brewing in the UK, including Evin from The Kernel and Gregg from Weird Beard… any excuse to put them on the taps!
Their lovely food team have been tasting all sorts of Irish meats and cheeses to put together a special board for the evening and of course there will be some festive scotch eggs available!
Entry is free with music starting at 7.30pm. Don’t miss it!
